Hello everyone
I apologize for my bad English but I write to you using a translator.
I am writing from northern Italy, because nobody knows this type of vehicle in the area.

I have a Toyota LC HZJ 4.2 diesel aspirated (see attached photo), a few months known a leak from the injection pump.

These are some drops that I find on the ground and above the front deck especially when the engine is warming up and when I turn it off while it cools.

When the engine is hot and on, it seems to have no loss!

The vehicle currently has 290,000 km

The loss is not of pressurized fuel but of the drops that fall by gravity

The prices for rebuilding a pump like this in Italy are not possible!

In your opinion, can it be enough to replace some o-ring or is it necessary to do it again?

I'm sorry to open the engine immediately because I replaced the distriubution belt 3000km ago!

The data I read about the pump are the following:

TOYOTA DENSO 22100 - 17630

Thanks in advance for the help

Lorenzo

First thing you want to check is if you have the ASCD device or not on your pump and if it is leaking from there.

Thank you

I read on this forum of the ASCD device but I do not see it on my pump.
The highest hole seems closed
In the lower one there is a small device but I think the loss comes from the top of the pump

Unfortunately, even if you clean the pump well you can not see where the diesel fuel comes from

Yours doesn't seem to have it judging from the P/N. Usually the ones that do have it will have "Kanrei-shi" or "カンレイチ シヨウ" next to the P/N which roughly translates to "cold region".

When these start to leak, the best thing you can do is give it to someone who knows what they are doing and get them to replace all the gaskets and seals.
In Australia that is about 300-350 euros. There are other countries in Europe where 1HZ engines are not uncommon. Try the French or German Landcruiser forums, maybe they can tell you who fixes their injector pumps.
At 290K its not unnormal for them to start leaking. You could fix the leak, but its likely it will leak somewhere else soon. At that age ,don't be surprised if it needs other work as well.
The lower hole is the timer piston.

These have 2 part numbers , one for Toyota 22100 - 17630 and another for Denso 096000-8320 8

This pump is mainly for Europe and Japan for HZJ70, 73 and 77 series . Australian and Middle East HZB50 Coasters also had them.

It's common for the rotary pump seals to start leaking at this age. It's possible to replace them yourself without dissasembling the whole pump. I've done it successfuly on my 2LTE pump. You have to remove the pump to do this properly. You will need a timing tool to set the injection timing when you put the pump back onto the engine. I'll be doing this job again for another engine soon 2LT-II. I bought my seal kit from a seller in the UK on Ebay. He sends instructions on how to do the harder seals like the pump head (Don't pull it right off!!).
