HZJ105 Gearbox

Hi,

I apologise in advance if this has been covered to death in the forum, but I can't confirm this information anywhere.

What is the auto gearbox in the HZJ105? Is it the A343F? And is it different to the later model 80's? Also is the auto gearbox in the HZJ105 different to those in the FZJ105?

The best way to confirm is to look on the data plate/sticker. If you are talking about Australian spec, then I believe all 100/105 with the 4sp auto had the A442F... similar as all their late model 80 series. All auto 5-sp were A750F in all countries.

Yeah its Australian Spec.

Dumb question, but the data plate/sticker your talking about is the sticker thats on the inside of the glovebox (sometimes) with info about the car?

Our 100's have a sticker on the driver's side door jamb. Not sure on the 105 but it might be an aluminum plate in the engine compartment, on the firewall.
