Hzj 76 - manual transmission & Differential fluid

Hour important is it to change the manual transmission & Differential fluid? Should I change the fluid in my car's Differential? How many times I need to change it every year?

Year model 2008 . 60,000 Kilo

I need your expert adives.

Do you have the owners manual? It will specify which fluids to change and when. I just hit 100 000km so I did diffs, gearbox, transfer, engine/filter, power steering, brake/clutch, radiator, fuel filter and air filter.

Its supposed to be changed every 25000 or 30000 klms or every year. The klms varies from country to country

It's always been every 100,000 km for my vehicles.
Certainly it is specified in your manual.

I seriously doubt that is true. I dont have the FSM for the R151 gearbox but I am sure it is 25000klms for the gearbox,t/case and diffs .
The only things that have a 100000klm service interval is the injector pump,the injectors and timing belt.

But what do I care,its not my gearbox.

Although not the same vehicle, the 86 3B owners manual says replace every 24,000 kms or 18 months whichever comes first, diff tranny and transfer.
I always check after playing in the water and replace as required.

If you use synthetic gear oils the change out interval is much longer.

As long as it does not get contaminated it doesn't 'go bad'.

No, do you? If so, you could make a few bucks selling scanned copies on CD.

Change once per year to be safe, and anytime you go through really deep water.

If you are not in deep water, 60k Km is a safe interval.
