Ok in my build up plans for my new 4runner I'm working on here I want to use portal axles but I have noticed a common problem with getting an SAS done with out getting at least 3 inches of lift so I got to thinking about just getting portal-tek to build my rear axle and using hummer portals and retaining the IFS up front. I was wondering, since you 100 series play around in the IFS world alot, if you have ever heard of using hummer portals on anouther vehicle other than the hibrid solid axles like the hum9s?

Years ago a Canadian (Pete Leenhouts? sp?) put hummer axles and drop boxes under his 40 using a custom IFS/hydraulic setup to run 44" tires.
You would need completely new control arms and a new front diff, but it is nothing than time and money cannot help.
