How will a Hummer H2 do for Over landing? I have 04 Hummer H2 on 37's in storage which I dont use much and I would like a dedicated Overland vehicle to mod (roof top tent, canopy, frig, etc). Still new to the sport, so I am not too sure how tight the trails will be. I know the tie rods are a weak link on the truck and I would have to add front lockers as well. Would I be better off looking for something smaller/lighter for the trails or putting money into this?

Since it's basically a Tahoe with a different body, it should be fine for light duty off-roading. If you're looking at dirt roads in the western USA, it should be fine.

It will not be much of a "trail rig" but for the usual dirt tracks of the outback, I'd run it. I'd skip the front locker. It's not a super strong front end, so why push it? It you're going places you need a front locker, get something else.
