Here's my Christmas break project.

Hub nut socket with 54 mm later and 50 mm early in one tool.

Started with 2 1/4 od exhaust tube.

The 50mm nut is OK for the inside diameter of the tube so I just heated and forged till it fit.

The 54mm end with made out of 3/4 x 1/8 flat and cut and welded to form the hex. I used piece of plywood cut to a 54mm hex to hold the pieces while I tacked them together, use gas torch to weld the six seams and filed them to fit.
Them gas welded it to the other end of the tube.
Drilled a couple of holes to use a bar for leverage and then it was done.

Another SST for the box

Nice project. Good work.

Well done.

Just make sure you never tally up the labour cost:D

I hate seeing chisel/screwdriver marks on hub nuts too!
