Hi everyone,

I recently purchased some Halo “Angel Eyes” LED lights for my 2001 LX470. I am wondering how to connect the red and black wires of the DRL halos to the circuit. Can’t connect to the actual DRL output because the voltage is too low.

Any solutions? If anyone has experience with this please let me know. Thanks in advance.

I had the Halo's installed by somebody else on my 01 LX470 but it looks like here is how they were wired. Grounded on top. Power from fuse box. Passenger side halo power linked with drivers power wire before entering fuse box. Hope this helps.

Thank you very much. Will look into this!

One question. This means that the lights are on no matter what when the engine is on, correct? This, you can’t use the switch on the left hand knob by the steering wheel to turn them off?

Also, a question for you or anyone else. Would it be possible to manipulate the OEM DRL output so that the halo LEDs behave exactly like the OEM DRLs, so they can be switched on and off?

The OEM DRLs are your high beam bulbs. Do you want halos in addition to your DRLs, or have you removed the high beam bulbs?

It’s possible to give both halos the full 12V via the DRL circuit and have them off with your low beams, but they will still come on when turning on or flashing your high beams.

Switching the DRLs manually on and off requires a different mod than giving the halos 12V.

Wow I didn’t know this. What I want is for the the lights to behave exactly how the OEM lights do. They can all be off, or I can turn on/off the main lights by turning the left stick. If I just wire a the middle halos (where the high beams are) with the 12V does this mean my “high beams” (the inner halos) will be on the whole time?

These are the lights I bought. It’s all together so I would have to take everything out.

Can your lights “all be off” now? I believe the DRLs (high beam bulbs) are on at half brightness when the headlight stalk control is turned to OFF, or AUTO in the daylight.

Also, DRLs illuminate only after shifting out of Park, so take that into account when testing.

So I understand: you want the halos to be your new DRLs, but still have the high beams available as actual high beams and never illuminated as DRLs?
