'98 Land Cruiser with 196,000 miles.....always garaged, but paint starting to show a little age. While cleaning it this past weekend, I starting to see some rust flecks where there have been rock chips or paint imperfections. How do you guys deal with or treat micro-rust before it becomes more of an issue. See attached pics.

What I do for the little rock chips.... Auto parts stores now carry OEM touch up paint, 3-in-1 system (I'm sure online too, think it's DuPont).

The touch-up paint comes with a ceramic-like tip that you can scratch the rust spot with, then apply paint, then apply the clear coat. Pretty neat kit, and about the same price as just touch up from dealer.

Dr. Colorchip actually works quite well and was designed for small chips. Used it on my M3 with surprisingly good results. I need to order some for the LC.

Dremel, small round burring tool, alcohol, touch-up paint.
Grind lightly in the tiny spot until no more rust is present, wash with alcohol, and then paint.
You can hit a bunch of spots in no time.
