Yeah I agree. I got myself an older Lenovo Thinkpad Yoga 12 (first gen S1 circa 2014) and that thing has been fantastic for Techstream. The ability to flip to the tablet (which Techstream DEFINITELY likes more than the regular laptop layout) with the Lenovo stylus has been awesome. I actually haven't touched my iPad in months since I got the little Lenovo as now I use it for practically everything.

So I’m getting “unable to connect to VIM” when plugging into my Lexus. Tried it on MS and HS setting and tried connect to vehicle and generic OBD 2. Any suggestions?

Still just windows as you have install a VM on the mac that is running WinXP from what I gather.

For the drivers... there is one of the dropdowns (think setup) that has you select your device. You have to have the XHorse drivers installed and the Xhorse VIM selected. It doesn't automatically do it for you.

Do you have a folder named c:\Program Files (x86)\XHorse Electronics\MVCI Driver for TOYOTA TIS with contents like the following?

I was receiving the same error until I copied the xHorse folder to this location.

Downloaded the two original links provided in this post and just found the cable on amazon.
Cable did say that it was for Toyota TechStream TIS correct? There are ones out there that have the similar chipset but are for other "brands" of cars.

The cable is not manufacture specific. The drivers are. You need a driver that'll operate on your OS weather it be windows 7, 10, xp 64 bit. Most the drivers sold on eBay with the cables won't run 64 win 10. I use my 15 dollar cable for Honda, Toyota, Volvo. There are places to find these drivers pm me if you're interested in trying a new driver.

That said, the cable does have to have j2534 certificat

I know yours is sold but if anyone were to get into the business of selling turn-key systems like these I feel like they would sell like crazy. I would prefer the tablet anyway. Too bad I missed out on yours or I would've picked it up.
Think it is a little limited on market. Few users out there that would really want it for what we do.
Tablet is definitely awesome for it... If I had to do over again, I would probably save a little longer and go for something like a Lenovo X250 or newer just to have bit better specs. The 12.5" screen of my S1 Yoga 12 is nice, little bigger screen of the Xseries (13.3") would be a nice little improvement but overall I am seriously in love with this little thing.
