Think that the 1fz engine is OBD1, not OBDII. However, places like OBDInnovations sell OBD1 connectors. Not sure if the software would work though, maybe ask the 80 series forum as that is what the 1fz is more prevalent in in the US.has anyone been able to use this on an Australian 1fzfe 105 landcruiser

OBDInnovations seems to be out of stock on most items. I ordered a 1.4 cable a month ago and have yet to receive it. They also have yet to respond to any email inquiries. Considering the CV19 situation, I’ll cut some slack but I’m about to cancel the purchase with my bank and wait until we get closer to normal life.thanks i will go over and have a look

Buyer beware.
And that is because I believe the 1FZ is considered and OBD1 engine, not OBDII. Were the guys in the 80series forum able to help? I wanna say that OBDII is 22-pin connector but the OBD1 is 16-pin. Could have it wrong though.the cable i have its techstream that wont talk the engine ecu being that the 1fz wasnt an option in the menu
sorry i should of explained myself better, i have the cable and the software that was posted at the start of this thread, my problem is techstream will talk to the ABS and SRS airbag computers but will not talk to engine and gearbox ones as the 1fzfe was not an option in the list of vechiles in techstream (I used the 2uz vechile), i was wondering if there was a work around for this, in Australia the 105 landcruiser with the 1fz that i have is the m-obd protocol. And that is because I believe the 1FZ is considered and OBD1 engine, not OBDII. You have your region set correctly in Techstream yes?sorry i should of explained myself better, i have the cable and the software that was posted at the start of this thread, my problem is techstream will talk to the ABS and SRS airbag computers but will not talk to engine and gearbox ones as the 1fzfe was not an option in the list of vechiles in techstream (I used the 2uz vechile), i was wondering if there was a work around for this, in Australia the 105 landcruiser with the 1fz that i have is the m-obd protocol.
as soon as i try to change the region it asks for a new key and refuses to connectYou have your region set correctly in Techstream yes?
Most likely your issue right there.as soon as i try to change the region it asks for a new key and refuses to connect
the one from the start of this thread, TechStream 12.20.024-v2Most likely your issue right there.
Which version are you running?
the one from the start of this thread, TechStream 12.20.024-v2
cool, thanks for your help, it has diagnosed my airbag problem which was the main reason what i got the cable for, i was just wanting to play around and check the engine side..I think that is because the "hacked/cracked" version that is on the VM provided is locked for that region.
If nothing else, pay the $15 at OBDInnovations for a copy of the software. That is what I did and it allows me to select the region when I first set it up.
