Ebay, OBDInnovations, other amazon links.
As long as it says it OBDII for TIS Techstream you are fine. Cable with v1.4 firmware is fine.

Does anyone have an updated amazon link for a reader? Original one is no longer available

I just got this one in the mail Ebay link. I downloaded the software from the first post on my Windows10 laptop and it worked first try. Shipping was quick (under a week). YMMV but it seems to be a good deal from my vantage point. They sent links to techstream but I couldnt get the key generator to work but no issues with the one from this link. Cable worked as shipped with no updates needed.

Edit - it looks like they are no longer shipping from inside the US so I cannot speak to shipping time based on the updated listing.

has anyone been able to use this on an Australian 1fzfe 105 landcruiser
Think that the 1fz engine is OBD1, not OBDII. However, places like OBDInnovations sell OBD1 connectors. Not sure if the software would work though, maybe ask the 80 series forum as that is what the 1fz is more prevalent in in the US.

OBDInnovations seems to be out of stock on most items. I ordered a 1.4 cable a month ago and have yet to receive it. They also have yet to respond to any email inquiries. Considering the CV19 situation, I’ll cut some slack but I’m about to cancel the purchase with my bank and wait until we get closer to normal life.
Buyer beware.

The last batch I ordered, at the beginning of the zombie apocalypse, were from uobd2ii.com, and allegedly shipped from a US warehouse (if you picked the right option)

*NOTE* I did not use the included software, as I already had something loaded, but the cable seemed to work just fine.

And that is because I believe the 1FZ is considered and OBD1 engine, not OBDII. Were the guys in the 80series forum able to help? I wanna say that OBDII is 22-pin connector but the OBD1 is 16-pin. Could have it wrong though.

sorry i should of explained myself better, i have the cable and the software that was posted at the start of this thread, my problem is techstream will talk to the ABS and SRS airbag computers but will not talk to engine and gearbox ones as the 1fzfe was not an option in the list of vechiles in techstream (I used the 2uz vechile), i was wondering if there was a work around for this, in Australia the 105 landcruiser with the 1fz that i have is the m-obd protocol.

You have your region set correctly in Techstream yes?

the one from the start of this thread, TechStream 12.20.024-v2

Hmm, not sure about that version :hmm:

I'm running 12.30.017 (both 32 and 64bit) as well as 14.20.019 (64bit) and for all of them I'm able to choose whichever region using the provided key

That being said, I wouldn't expect TechStream to really do much on anything with a 1FZ as it's geared towards newer vehicles :meh:

I think that is because the "hacked/cracked" version that is on the VM provided is locked for that region.
If nothing else, pay the $15 at OBDInnovations for a copy of the software. That is what I did and it allows me to select the region when I first set it up.

cool, thanks for your help, it has diagnosed my airbag problem which was the main reason what i got the cable for, i was just wanting to play around and check the engine side..
