The picture appears to be a 4th generation 4Runner. Doesn't that have vents in the back of the center console already? Our 04 4th gen does. Disappointed the 5th gen 4Runner doesn't have a rear air option. Would be getting one with the small 3rd row seats just to get rear air.

Believe the 98/99 without the 3rd row seats didn't have rear air but after that all 100 series had rear air as well as the 200 series. 60/62 series either have a rear heater under the console or a short console. Guessing for the most part this is mainly for the 80 series?

Yes, 4th Gen 4Runner has rear AC. That is not my 4Runner, I am guessing may be the rear AC in that 4Runner is not working, or may be they need more air at the back.

For US spec'd UZJ100: No rear AC for 1998 model. Rear AC is optional for 1999 model.

For US spec'd LX470: Rear AC for all models.

HA! I will be getting a different vehicle soon, but it won't be a second cruiser. I need at least one vehicle that gets acceptable mpg. Hoping I can find a good LS (or GS) for the Mrs to drive the kiddos around in.

Yes, 4th Gen 4Runner has rear AC.

Doing some used car market search found that on the 5th gen 4Runner only offers climate control on the limited. Our 04 Sport Edition has climate control which we are used to.
