Is there a DIY/write-up on that somewhere? I want to install a Vais Bluetooth audio streaming thing and need to take it apart and access the rear of the unit, just wondering where to start.

Toyota factory service manual should get you what you need. It's linked under a sticky here somewhere.

Thank you both

If you still need it later today I can scan the instructions for my Prestigious Society installation instructions. Should be very similar.

From what Ive gathered so far it looks like I pop the speaker cover on top, then pop the vents, then take out two bolts on top and 1 on each side and it should pull forward enough to get back there. We shall see....

top speaker -vents and then its pretty straight forward ...

Yep, did it last night. I used two metal paint scrapers a broad one and a narrow one.

Top speaker cover first, then vents. Then pulled the knee pads with my hands. Then removed the gray side support things. Then removed the four bolts holding the screen in. Then four more for the radio.

Installed the Vais Tech SL3b, programmed it, tested it, ran the USB charging cable down and out right around the AUX port, then put it all back together.

So does this Vais device essentially update the 08/09 radio to the 2010 and newer style? This will give me bluetooth streaming? Usb Charger? Does it display on the LC screen whats on your phone - songs, calls etc?

Thanks!

I'm pretty sure that's exactly what it does.
