anyone have a cheap solution on how to install software on a netbook without a cd drive? Any way to link to a desktop? burn onto an SD card?

8Gb USB stick should handle any DVD size (7Gb?) soft, no? (good for movies on the road too?)

or do a shared folder in Windows?

get a USB DVD drive? these are probably $30 or so now.

Wifi network?

yeah I can transfer stuff over the net, but some programs don't let you copy everything for transfering files.

I save everything into a removable hard drive, and move the hard disk to the netbook, and copy it from there...

I also coughed up and purchased a nifty external USB CD/DVD drive.... It's really nice to have around... Especially since my disk drive on my computer died... it was nice to have a backup that was movable...

The SD suggestion is good too... I've done that way too... My favorite idea is the Flash drive/ EHD... it's easy to move... and you always have a "hard" copy... just make sure to copy the Desktop icons.... I don't like using shared folders to move files.... It's a pain in the butt....
