So I'm wondering what's the best way to do this... I had my first experience with C-Dan... Very cool patient guy. He sounds really busy, though. I'm just wondering how I might make ordering easier next time. It would have really helped if I had that day factory part numbers and universal names... I went off of what sor called the same parts I ordered from C-Dan. For example, manifold bolts long and short. Dan was like Hugh? Some of the part's names don't jive. For example, It came down to Dan having to discribe a part over the phone to me... Like sharades. We got it worked out. It was just time consuming...
Just wondering if there is a good source for OEM part numbers? Someone had suggested 1st Toyota. I played with the on line catelog for a bit but I couldn't get it to give me any specific pn's. However, YOU give IT part numbers and IT recognizes them... Is there anyway to use this as a parts number source??? Can anyone explain how to do this?

Discounttoyotaparts.com or SOR will give you a good description of the part. This description will probably get Cdan in the ballpark. The other option is the Toyota dealer. Tell them you need some prices for some work you are doing. They'll give you a printout of parts/prices. You can look on their screen pictures to help find the parts. Ya probably don't want to do this a lot however...

I've had the same problem numerous times...IIRC a while ago on ebay I saw a complete parts list on CD (taken from old microfiche). I'm assuming the numbers are still the same, now just to track down the seller!

Cheers

I went on ebay and saw this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/PARTS-LIST-1981-TO-1990-TOYOTA-LAND-CRUISER_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ6032QQitemZ8057743105QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW

It's calling it a parts list for a 1980-1990 land cruiser... That's pretty generic. It doesn't say if it's for an FJ60 or 62. I'm sure that in 10 years things changed quite a bit. I'm having trouble believing that this parts list covers an 85 fj60 accurately, or 62 of any other year. Things have to vary quite a bit with in that 10 years... ?

Maybe...but for 5 bucks or so you could find out (no affiliation)!! :grinpimp:

Or you could search for EPC and find this french website that has a bunch of good pdf's for reference. Some of it's in English some of it's in French. It's cool to be able to see the factory routing for the duel battery set-up, amongst other things.

For 5 bucks or so I might order the thing from ebay and check it out!!

Cheers

try a search in the international section.

A while back, someone had a copy of the electronic parts catalog program used by toyota dealers, and was hosting it on some file-exchange program.

I downloaded a copy, and I'd gladly host, except the hard drive I copied it to crashed.

It's a nifty program, lets you search by part number, description, gives the nice schematic diagrams....

Yankee Toys has the EPC on CD posted on their website. There are three files; 2 CD files and a FAQ telling you how to use the CDs. The files are at the bottom of the page.

I just downloaded the files last night and have not had a chance to play with them, so I don't know if they work well or not.
