Well, my new to me 2001 Hundy is really nice, nicer than my 98 I sold while in South America, however it needs a little love such as front speakers.
So yesterday I bought some KICKERS and began pulling the door panels and all associated hardware, its really pretty easy to do.
After the install I had to check 'em out, so there I was, cranking some Slipknot and loving the sweet sounds coming out of my new speakers.
I buttoned everything up and noticed my passenger window was still down, so BAM, window switch no worky!
Yep, I was frazzled and immediately tore the door apart again, checked connections and then tore the switch apart checking for a broken solder or dirty pads that make contact with the pc board.
Man, I was bummed, so I called my local Toyota shop and checked the price, I was figuring about a $100...boy, was I shocked, $330....
Screw that, I got on the interwebs and started checking everywhere, probably spent 2 hours total and found a new Toyota one for $212 and some used ones for $80....
I noticed yesterday the engine turned over slowly and put the truck on a charger overnight and made the decision the battery was going South when it didn't have a full charge this morning.
So wifey and I were off to get a new battery but her hair is long and the window being down made her irritable so I decided to crack the back passenger to stop some buffeting....
So I put my finger on the right rear passenger window button and BOOM...nothing happened.....
Ah crap, not my master switch switch panel going South too......
There's a window lock button, don't forget the obvious...
Anyway, here she is...
