How to beef the 3b motor for turbo

So i have a 1986 bj70 with a 3b engine in it and the engine is running but a little on the old side so ive decided that before i whack a turbo on her i will give her a rebuild as the compression reading werent that great and its been abused by the previous owner. So i am doing the rebuild myself i have bought a standard rebuild kit for it BUT i want to see if there is anything i can do when rebuilding to make it more stronger to handle a turbocharger ie. Rings, different pistons, 13bt crank shaft maybe? Is it as simple as buying a 13bt rebuild kit and using that to rebuild the 3b engine? Cheers

Throw it over to the side and install a 1HZ.

Or purchase a Holden motor.

Yeah i was looking at the 1hz but from the forums it looks like i need to get the full setup from a troopy but trying to work out cost and amount of work needed on both ways and see which one is going to be a better option at this point.

Hi turboglide does a t25 turbo with a m24 housing i am looking at buying a t25 turbo with m24 housing second hand in great condition its from a nissan s15 just wondering if this turbo with be the same and if not how to find one the same as the turboglide turbo, also im looking for a good top mount intercooler setup for the 3b with that turbo on it are there any suggestions. Turbo would be different. Dont really need to do much in the way of mods to run decent boost on a 3B
