Note that I did a search on this topic, but I am still unlear on my options.

I have a 2004 LC 100 (US specifications) with Nav, Bluetooth and 6 disk changer. I'd like to add Satellite radio (either XM or Sirius). If possible, I want a direct/clean installation (i.e., controlled through existing interface (incl. touch screen, steering wheel controls, etc.) no FM or tape adaptor, no loss of other functionality, etc.

Is is such an installation reasonably possible? If so, where do I go/what products do I look at to get it done (cost estimates greatly appreciated)? Does the choice between XM and Sirius affect my options?

Because I have little technical expertise, "for dummies" type responses are especially helpful to me.

Thanks!

When we installed Sirius in ours, we were told at the time (almost two years ago) that the only way you could install it using the existing interface would be to tap into the CD/DVD changer interface. This would cause you to lose steering wheel controls for the DVD changer. Not sure how true this was, but this came from a shop that does high end installs.

We ended up using the FM modulator that must have some sort of an amp because the sound is crystal clear. I actually have to turn off the the Sirius tuner if I want to listen to the OTA broadcasts as the SAT tuner overpowers those broadcasts.

I thought I read recently there there is a little known way of doing this, but haven't seen anything.

As for my install. The receiver is mounted under the driver's seat.

Everything is hidden except for the controller.
