how much paint to paint super beetle?

I am turning a 74 super beetle into a commuter car (free from a friend). I am going to paint it as a practice before I paint my FJ40. I would like to do 3 coats of paint and 3 coats of clear coat.

How many quarts of paint would it take for 3 coats on a car the size of a bug? Local parts store sells auto paint for paint gus in quart cans and since this is a first time (I will practice a bit on scrap I have), how many qts for 3 coats?

2 qts would probably do it. If you are worried, buy 1 extra qt. I painted my fj40 with about 2.5 qts. and wasted a lot (I'm not a professional painter!)
