OK POWER ... Sure the stock controller sucks but the URD one works great.
I agree, If he is starting from scrach, the best bang for the buck is the URD kit not the 7th. When I stated the hp range I thinking TRDOLMAN as the top hp output.
I ran the same setup (though you must have a smaller pulley) because I only hit 8psi once, most of the time it pegged at 7. I did it to compensate for the power loss with going to 33's but was never really happy so pulled it off and sold it all to buy 4.88's and was way happier. Mileage went up and it actually was peppier with the 4.88s and N/A than with the stock 4.10's and S/C'd.
I do have one of the smaller pulley. I've though about changing the gearing to 4.88's but I haven't.
This statement needs a caveat, that the auto's WILL blow up without a valve body upgrade. Oh and most if not all of the trucks I know of running this hp level are on near stock sided tires. Double the hp at the rear wheels AND up the tire size will almost guarantee mechanical failures...
