Ok stupid question first. But I am the 3rd owner and do not have the manual. How many quarts of oil go into the FZJ80? (Yes, search is down right now so.....off)
Second. What brand synthetic/blend do you all suggest?
Add 8 quarts and you will be fine. Book calls for like 7.8 i think, but when i attempt that, my oil light will come on intermittently. So i add 8 and all is good. I use Mobil1 synthetic. I wouldn't bother with the blend. Either go all syn or stay dino.
Yeah, use synthetic oil (Mobil 1, Amsoil, Redline, etc) and use the OEM Toy filter part number 15600-41010 or Wix 5151. If you can still get the 90915-20004 oil filter, that would be great because that is what majority here wants to be installed in thier Cruiser/ LX 450.

You have had your 80 for over 10 months and don’t know how much oil it takes?
You have been on this board for over a year and don’t know what syn oils are recommended?
Seams to me these are the first tings a new owner would find out, no?
Search was down so you asked the question, but don’t be surprised or get angry when you are razzed about it, both of those questions have been talked about repeatedly and recently.
Rookie, come on, you have to admit chacotaco has a good point. If you are angry because you feel like someone didn't search enough or for whatever reason, just avoid the thread all together. Lighten up, if no one posts replys to a thread then maybe the author realizes it's sooo stupid no one wants to waste their time responding to it or they should search a bit.
While I respect the time & effort that Cary gave out to research the oil & light matters & composed very well informed documents that benefit most of us (along with numerous posts), I simply do not agree with the attitude in his post above (given that's not the only one that I've read).
Ass hat???!!!! Were you thinking of the type of sexual play you like to engage in and that you forgot to buy rubbers, or are you simply incapable of spelling ass*ole?
To respond to the rest of your post:
1) Did you bother to mention that you couldn't get the search to work? NO.
2) I guess it was to hard to look in your owners manual.
3) Yes, I did know this information when I was born.
Man, I don't check in for a few days and all hell breaks loose.
P.S. For you Mudshack I have a special oil recommendation. Go online and find this stuff called Astroglide. At least then you will be a slick assh*le rather than rough one.
