Recently purchased a Baofeng UV-82. Cool little radio with tons of features, but programming is a SOB. Down at OEX three very experienced HAMs tried and gave up. Finally one more tried and got at least 146.460 locked in.

I've got a couple Baofeng UV-5R radios and used the free software CHIRP to program. CHIRP was a little tricky to get running on a Mac, but now have 20 plus repeaters through California programmed on both radios. Going to use it when I finally get my Yaesu, too.

I use chirp on my Baofeng UV-52 as well. I haven't tried it on an 82 yet. but I assume it would work. have you been to the miklor site?
