I am going to have my front end torn apart this summer while i do the motor swap and while I'm at it I am going to clean and seal the front clip before setting the new motor in place. I was thinking, while i'm that far along how hard would it be to lift the body off high enough to get to the rest of the frame? I'll probably end up doing this at a later date but I just want to hear from some people who have had their 60 bodies off. I'll breeze through my haynes manual too but I am interested in your thoughts.

I've parted out a couple of FJ60's. Skill wise, it is probably a 3 banana job. Time wise, it takes a day with power tools to strip the body enough to separate it from the frame. Maybe much longer to put it back together. I wouldn't know, these 60's were not worth putting them back together.

Its not tough, couple of bolts, undue the ebrake cable, fuel line.

The hard part is lifting the 1000 pound or better depending whats left on it and how much fuel is in the tank. Too lift it high enough to roll the chasis out requires a good car hoist or high up.

We tried it with some high lift jacks and it was simply dangerious and took nearly four hours.

Putting it back on was easy as I realized that a high up on a five tone truck for only seventy bucks and it took about 10 minutes. I would use the high up again as it was safe quick and provide quite the dextarity.
