As a rule of thumb?

I know we all want to get 'top dollar' for our rigs, but realistically can you expect the average Joe to pay that much above blue book values?

Kelly BB values my rig at less than $2k. Mostly because of rust problems. The engine, drivetrain, interior, etc... everything else works as it should. Clutch is one year old, ties (all FIVE) are one year old, the spare has never been rotated in. 5 Firestone Destination M/T's on Tacoma rims (16x7). Front seats (both) are new and better than stock IMOP.

I've I took the $1500 Kelly BB wants me to, I'd be taking a pretty hefty loss. I'm not looknig for $5k out of the truck, but I'd like to be realistic.

I don't expect to get 100% value out of my tires, but tossing them in for free is unacceptable to me. This goes for the seats, clutch, new stereo, etc as well. I think those things add value, but how much?

Since I'm sure someone will ask- here's a list of things it has going for it.

5 matching firestone destination M/T's on Taco rims
Honda Pilot front seats (drivers is power)
pair of 2badfj's sliders (with step!)
Jacob's ignition
Full tune up last year.
Hella FF1000 driving lights, and horns
New clutch one year ago.
Doesn't leak oil.
One year old fuel pump

Things against:
Rust. Lots of it. Dog legs, rear hatch, front doors by the A pillars (can't see it until the door is opened).

Moving target, cruiser prices seem to fluctuate with several factors, not the least of which is the (in)sanity of the buyer.

Base starting point on the perfect "gold" STOCK cruiser, AVERAGE miles, good rubber, NO rust, NO dents, good paint, interior, exhaust, etc....

- Subtract for rust (anywhere from 25% to 50% of "gold" value)
- Subtract some for trail damage - body only
- Subtract more for trail damage - suspension
- Subtract for unusual interior damage (cracked dash / hacked interior)
+ Add for regular maintenance
+ Add for recent tranny/tcase/birf rebuild (depending on who did the work)
note: 200K seems to be the tipping point for tranny rebuilds
+ Add for aftermarket alarm / exceptional audio system or electronics

If buyer is looking to do some wheeling...
+ Add for lift kit
+ Add for sliders
+ Add for oversize tires
+ Add for front/rear protection
+ Add for rack
+ Add for lights
- Subtract for SOA w/o proper installation

Don't add anything for:
- Tint
- Intact snake blinders
- Every scrap of paper documenting maintenance and gas receipts

Probably a lot more opinions here....
