Not direct cruiser tech, but cruiser heads are the only people I truely trust when it comes to this kind of stuff.

My dad gave me his '65 Mercedes in '99. I love the car, and am giving it some of the love and attention it needs. Right now im going through painting it, and getting some of the odds and ends done.

Before I got the car, all the body work was done (this thing has been totaled 3 times, I dont want to know how many gallons of bondo it has). Mechanically it was trashed.

My current project is to fix the fist size rust holes through the undercarage. My dad tried to hide the problem by liberally applying undercoating every 3-5 years for the 20 years he drove the car.

I'm off to grab aircraft stripper tomorrow to strip everything under the car to bare metal, but is it the best option?

undercoating. . . . .

Aircraft stripper is great on paint! I paint it on at night and in the morning it is already peeling. Multiple coats of paint might take a couple applications, but it works great. The great thing of genuine aircraft stripper is that it is meant to be used on aircraft so it is formulated to not interact with most metals. My brother has an airplane and they are pretty picky because some strippers can weaken the aluminum.
Anyways, on undercoating a paint stipper has a hard time getting through to the metal just due to the thickness. I found a heat gun works best. Once the majority is off it can be easily removed with a solvent.
Just my 2 cents:skull:

Don't know how good it works but remembered seeing it on Eastwood's site-
