How did your 285's affect gas milage?

Don't know didn't leave the stock ones on that long... I think they only had 22km on them when I upgraded... but I would like to know...

I drove from the Dealer to Discount tire accross the street and swapped 'em out. Did not, however, notice any significant loss of acceleration, as in my 94' 4Runner.

With stock tires I averaged 280-290 miles before fuel light on my first 4 or 5 tanks. With upgrade to 285/70 17’s with Donahoe lift I have been averaging 250-260 miles till fuel light. Fill-up’s have been between 14.5 and 16 gals.

I'm installing a 3" All-Pro this weekend with 285/70/17's. Just wondering what to expect.

When I first did the tires/lift the ride was really squirrelly with poor tracking. This, I discovered, was tire pressure related. The tire dealer wanted me to run 50 to 55psi in my GY w/silent armor because they were LT tires vs. P rated tires. I lowered the pressure to 38psi and the ride went back to normal. I also didn’t like the way the front with the donahoe was higher then the rear. I added downey coils with bilstein shocks to the rear and it really leveled thing out. Overall, I am very pleased with the ride. It seems as good, if not better, then I remember the stock ride to be

Hey scmucker you are probably getting just as far with the 285's. It's your odometer is telling you different. Go to the highway from mile marker to mile marker and you will see that it's 9th's of a mile when you get to the next one. That's gonna be 10%. So figure every 100 miles is really 110. You basically lowered your gear ratio buy going larger diameter so on the highway you wil get better millage. It's the accerating w/ a larger tire that hurts but with only a inch or so it's not really a issue.

The difference is 5% between the 265/70 to 285/70 (its 2piR).

My mileage sux - 220 till fuel light, best mileage has been 15.8. I am an MT6, running BFG's, lift and a roof rack. Also it 110 in phoenix and I'm running A/C most all the time.

This is what I was exploring. Which Bilstiens? How do you like the Downey coils? I had a set on my 4Runner and it was the best single mod I made. How much lift are you getting from the coils? Pix?
