Hey y'all,

Unfortunately my family continues to grow, and I need to swap out my baby for something that will seat a few more people (and is easier for the kids to get in and out of 😅), so I'm selling my fully modded, built to the 9s, LX570. I bought it here from a fellow IH8Mud member in Denver, and now I'm back in Texas with it. This thing was built for rock crawling and Moab trips. To get the full list of mods and work done as well as a full set of pictures, check out the original sales post here. I also have a LRA 24gal auxiliary tank ready to be installed sitting at Duggy's Garage in Houston, and would consider handing that over to the buyer if you offer the right price, otherwise I'll let them sell it for me. It's in the same condition I purchased it in, as I haven't had a chance to wheel it.

Asking 55k OBO.

great looking rig - I saw it at the airport valet parking garage a month or so ago....

I have planned to pick it up this week
That's interesting because I spoke with Kevin (the Owner) before Christmas and we made a deal for me to come pick it up on December 28th. I had already bought a plane ticket and everything. Kevin texted me (a couple days before i was suppose to fly out) to tell me that he had a local buyer who offered more money and he was going to sell it to him. As you can imagine I was pretty upset since we already had made a deal and plane ticket was bought and everything. Kevin did offer to pay me back for my plane ticket. I even asked Kevin why wasn't i given the chance to raise my offer to meet the local guys offer? No response from from him. By now I figured the car was sold to the local person and it was done. Fast forward to today and I see a different person has now made a deal to pick up car that is not local. I just got off the phone with Kevin to ask him what happened if the car was still available. He said yes but has gotten a ton of calls and he doesn't know who is who. I said i get it and the holidays make things crazy. I asked if i can offer 1k more then the new buyer (even though we settled on a price weeks ago) can i come get it tomorrow and he said no. He said after our exchange he didn't want to sell it to me. I thought i was pretty calm considering the circumstances.

I am not here to smear Kevin's name in any way. Ive never met him. But only to let people know of how business was conducted. I was raised to treat people a certain way and that your word is all you have. I have no idea what @RuralTruck is paying for the truck, but i would be more then happy to send you PM with details about our conversation. Not sure of what Kevin's intentions were or are but all i know is a lot of bad business transpired between the two of us. Im all about everyone getting every dollar they can from whatever they are selling, but when you make a deal (especially with someone on this forum) i would hope that we stick to it and treat fellow forum members accordingly.

I did tell Kevin that i was going to post this on here. I didn't want this to catch him off guard. Also, i hope this doesn't happen to anyone else on here. I for one would never do this to a fellow forum member or anyone for that matter.

I can’t speak to this exact situation nor do I have a dog in this fight. However I’ve been an amateur buyer and seller of cars for over 30 years and I’ve seen more shenanigans in the last two years than ever before, money/greed are contributors. The reality is that there’s a short supply of vehicles new and used which has created less than preferred methods of buying and selling. I have learned that when I find a vehicle I want to buy and a price is agreed upon, I immediately place a deposit or a wire and have a bill of sale signed until the deal is complete with pick up and our final payment. It is not a guarantee but it certainly secures the agreed-upon deal.

In terms of selling, auction sites, like them or not, generally determines the value of a vehicle for a seller and helps to eliminate ambiguity on price. Most important when the auction closes the deal is done, most of the time.

I know nothing about this current situation and I hope it works out for everyone involved but I have certainly learned a lot over the last 24 months and it definitely has changed the way I go about acquiring vehicles.

I made a similar inquiry, and I would still fly down tomorrow to purchase it for asking price if seller would accept.
