Any chance you over greased your front drive shaft? This tends to throw grease and could have ended up on your exhaust or other hot surfaces.

I thought about them. I read in a few other threads that they're a bit pricy. Would that be pricier than a local mechanic or pricier than a Toyota dealership? I don't mind paying more than a local mechanic for good service but more than a Toyota dealership might be a bit steep.

I would say their prices are reflective of their products/service. Their hourly rate is LESS that Toyota and you can bet they know your truck better than the service departments and local mechanics.

There is a reason why the garage bays are filled with Land Cruisers everyday. People sometimes forget that they're a service shop as well as a vendor/install shop.

Sold. I'll take it to them and have them figure out what's wrong. I'm definitely willing to pay for quality service and I've never heard a bad word about their shop (but at some point, paying MORE than Toyota for a 14-year old vehicle seems like a bit more than I'd like to spend; glad to hear they're competitive in that sense).
