Ok, so this is a photo from about 20 minutes ago.... My employees left early so I had just enough time to put some gas in her and wire up a hillbilly ignition/starter switch. First time this thing has run since '84.......The rear drive shaft is out at the shop, so I'm rolling front wheel drive for now. There are no words to describe the feeling.......

move back here.... i need another guy at mt. pickett woodworking,,,,,,

Congratulations Gary!

Hey, your bib is crooked. :D

Looks like you took it for a spin through the woods. How did it go?

left it real loose so I could adjust it with the fenders... just drove 2 i/2 miles east, then 1 mile west to visit friends....both of em had a beer for me. gotta love the far end of an island...... runs frikken awesome btw.......

Excellent.

It's nice to bring one of these things back from the dead, ain't it? Everything else around us these days is disposable. I can see the day when Americans have to start rebuilding things again, rather than throwing them away.

Todd.

not a single gauge hooked up... just a man and a motor connected to some wheels (just the fronts) and wind in my hair ( what is left of it.....) i love this ****

Very nice pickett.. You ready to do some drag racing against my 45?

Get your water and oil gauges hooked up...helps against the uber aww s***s..

You are on for the drag race! I had run the engine quite a bit in the donor up til a couple weeks ago, and it had excellent oil pressure and ran cool. I know it was sort of dumb, but I wouldn't have run an unknown engine without gauges, (or with the pto engaged and the winch dog clutch in)...only an idiot would do that! oh wait

very cool :)

looks like you had some horizon blue paint left over from your old LPB ;)

Thats awesome!

Concocted some new horizon blue that is quite flat. Rustoleum flat white, flat black and royal blue gloss. I did a lot of tests on the inside of an original door til I had it just right. This truck was horizon blue from the factory. I have mixed a lot of flat paints for old trucks in the past, for instance to fix one fender on an otherwise nicely oxidized Montana rig......Mikesta and Landpimp, are you coming to the fj 45 drags later this month? Bull has challenged me to a match. Maybe we should drag logs behind them to keep the speeds down...
