We recently got my wife a '00 4Runner Limited 4x4 and I wanted to start modding it, well she didn't want to do anything to it, so I decided to start looking for something...I have to sell my modded BMW 325i to be able to get something else, so I have started searching for an 80 and like them alot. I have the choice after selling my car to take over the runner and let her get a new Accord, but something keeps me wanting a Land Cruiser, who cares if its a few years older! Anyway, how are these vehicles on gas mileage? I know that the runner isn't too great considering the size of the tank, but I will deal with it if it's as bad as the runner. I saw where it is good to hold out for one with the diffs, etc. I am kinda new to this, what is the advantage there? I like this site alot, and people seem nic here, thanks for any help!

Most are getting 12-13 City and 16-17 highway. Those numbers are for *stock* US 1993-1997 models. Lifts, bumpers, large tyres, winches, roof racks, etc. ; all start dropping the MPG.

There are two sources you need to read then come back for more questions.
1. The newbie guide on Christo's web site.
2. The diffs for dummies web site.

>> and people seem nic here <<

Everybody here is nic [sic] :) except for Junk when he isn't getting enough diet Coke and C-Dan when the dogs are well fed. He's actually very nic [sic] when the dogs are hungry.
