Hood Release Cable Sticking

As the title says, my hood release cable is sticking preventing me from closing the hood. I have to wiggle the release lever to get it to "unbind".

Anybody else had this?

<update> I remove the 3 - 10mm bolts and pulled the latch assembly off it's mounting surface. I lubed the cable and worked the mechanism back and forth until it repeatedly worked. We'll see if it holds up.

After trying to lube the cable on my 80 series with no luck, I just ordered a new latch cable from Toyota. I took it to my trusted Toyota mechanic and he replaced the cable for me for pretty cheap. I was going to do it myself but had read it was kind of a pain so I opted to pay for that job.
