Hi all, I am in need of a idea for a replacement hood latch release system for my BJ-70. I am doing a intercooler and the present hood latch system is in the way and will need to remove it.
I found a plunger type latch system off of a older Saab that I might be able to use in a different place, but the junk yard wants me to buy the hood for $100 since the upper pin is integrated with the hood and they can't sell the hood if they cut a section out, which is understandable. The other idea I have is to use those race car style hood pins that stick out through the hood. I would rather have a clean looking latch system, but these pins are way cheaper than buying a whole hood. I thing 80's series Honda Civics have also a similar type latch as the older Saab's. Any idea's?
