I LOATHE bad dealerships. It also weighs on the "good" dealerships as I view them all as swindlers and not to be trusted until proven otherwise. I'm sure that's annoying to the good salesmen too, but hey - they've got to know they're in the minority.I've had quite a few interactions like that, though I was previously told on the phone prior to coming in that the vehicle is "mint, no issues" and if you come in today "we'll do $XXXX off".
Only to find issues upon arrival to which the response often is "well, we have not fully inspected it. And we do not negotiate" Well, in that case I am fully going to waste your time, just like you wasted mine.
Plenty examples out there, especially for early pre-facelift LX570s.
@bluelew if they consider this "reconditioned" ask them what the cool velcro is for on the glovebox? I'd want to know how solid that lockup is before I signed for it. As mentioned, the cupholder part is NBD IMO but that could be yet another reason you want them to offer another concession. The "wet" shocks I cant speak to but know this is where the real money would need to be spent to remedy from what you've said so far. The extra bits and pieces can be picked up easy enough during parts sales from Toyota (but again - don't tell the dealer this). I wasn't too impressed with aUtOnATioN with my recent new car search. HTH.
