Where might I find an 8' stick of 1-1/2" to 2" rebar?

(In the Tucson area)..She's got me on a last minute Christmas build project.

Rustier the better, I might add.

Try the guys at Harris Rebar (520 295 8989). You may also check around where they have been working on I-10 north and south of Marana. Might find a piece laying around.

My teeth are all still in good shape, thank you..:D

Thanks for the lead, Border Products also sells 1/2 a stick..

Call Harris and tell them you need a piece of #14. They're the only one's down there that might have it. It should cost you about $0.35/ lb. and at 7.65 lb/ft you're looking at $21.42 plus tax. Unfortunately we closed our shop down there earlier in the year and brought all of our stock back up here. They may not have anything that size though. A #10 bar is 1 1/4" and they will likely have that in stock. #11 is 1 3/8" and also relatively common for Tucson yards to keep in stock. They weigh 4.303#/ft and 5.313#/ft respectavely and should have a similar cost per #. A piece that length is generally a piece of scrap in those bar sizes so you might be able to get a break on the price but don't count on it cuz they're whores over there at Harris.

Do me a favor... don't buy from Border. I'm still a little bitter.:flipoff2:

I won't hold it against ya if you buy from them. but I still would rather see ya buy from Harris, even though they're my competition too. After 14+ years at Border you woulda thought they might have at the very least asked why I was leaving let alone make some kinda move to keep me there. Hell I even took my right hand man with me and they didn't even ask him to stay (which is what I woulda done if I was them). Bah...
