OK, today I was just dicking with the li'l Honda and decided to put my thumb over the exhaust on the brand-new-OEM-muffler.......so I close it off and still hear and feel exhaust coming out of it. On closer inspection, I see it is coming from a threaded hole in the muff. So I put in a 6mm bolt and voila! quiet as can be. So, should I have plugged it or not? What would have mounted there? You can see the bolt head between the shock and the heat shield.:hhmm:

typically for either retaining baffle in some models or most likely cleaning the internal spark arrestor. Didn't hurt a thing.
