What to look for?
What to pay?

I want one............but I am too stoopid to know the answers to the above questions. There is one for sale close by that has compression, but does not run, has no seat foam but the metal part of the seat.

Anyone care to help?

Thanks!

Ed

I thought I'd throw my dick over my shoulder and GO!;)

What's wrong with fxxxing footballs? The Chiefs do it every year........:D

Ed:beer:

your too much Man!!... go for it... post up how it goes... on second thought... I'm gonna bid on the bitch and run it up......;p

OK, fxxxer, you are funny.....how about a little technical help here.....I don't wanna buy a pile of scrap-crap:flipoff2:

Ed

BTW........the "Chefs" areBRANDFxxxING NEW this year:rolleyes:

compression + spark + fuel = haul ass.... so being claims of compression per say..... the other 2 needed indegrients shouldn't be too costly to fix.... set of points?? worse thing the gas tank has rust and passed it on downward.....but they are simple lil bikes to work on..........go for it!

Ed-

Just like everything else...If you want something clean, start with something clean.

Look at a lot of them. Ride them. Do not get bent on the first one you find...

The 50's are fun but I would find a clean ST90 if you want an automatic with a bit more power, or CT70H if you want a small bike and a clutch/four speed.

A good, clean bike with the title will run at least 1K unless you find someone that does not know what they have.

What are you looking to do with this thing? Ride around in a parade donin' that funny hat? I thought that Cushmans were your tribes ride if it was not a Harley? ;)

There are a lot of 'little' bikes out there that are cool...

Look at a TW200. They are a hoot.

The reason the 50 was attractive is that it needs no license to putz around town, no plates, no helmet......legally it is invisible;)
Poser, as for parade fodder, I told you my preference................motorized barstool:beer:
I've seen them "restored" for $1500, but if I could get into this one for less than a couple hundy.....:hhmm:

Yes, thats true... some old fart will run over your ass on that thing Ed, I worried now your gonna get killed on that death trap.... motorcycles carry a bad rap like when you play with a BB gun the chances are greatly improved you'll get your eye putout;)...... well hell! I guess next you'll be wearing leathers and supporting some sort of group colors..... :hhmm:

EGG-Zactly...................with Raquel Welch ridin' bitch.

OK, who makes it? and I assume it is 200cc?

Those little OHC singles are easy to work on and there are parts all over the web for them. I would suggest a CT90. They sit quite a bit higher, have a bit more umph and come with a three speed, clutchless, and hi-lo range. You often see them hanging off the back of a motorhome.

Some of them came with the "long range" additional fuel tank and storage rack..

They only have one seat, so it will be easy to turn down all the biker chicks that will want to ride (with) you. :D

You will have pay upto a thou for a decent one though, and they do need to licensed.

Yamaha TW200, 200cc, made from 87 to current and basically unchanged. Great bikes that are stupid easy to ride and very reliable. Mine is just shy of 18,000. :D

lots of info on the the web about them. 80mpg, some have gotten as high as 100mpg. Work great on the trail or quick jaunts around town.

What to pay

I bought one yesterday for $340. They were asking $400. Running. If its not running you have no idea what's wrong with it. It could smoke or the trans may not work. I don't think you want to pay more then $300 IMHO.

WOW 340 thats a good price, Im looking for one too. Local guy here wanted 300 for mini 50 with weak engine. I did not go for it. You can get brand new lifan motors that bolt right up 50cc or 110cc for about 300.00. I ended up buying a honda ct70 project for 80.00 and a nice score on a SL70 for a 100.00 that im gonna restore

check gas tank for any rust bring flashlight, see if he has paper work for it, maybe spray starting fluid in the carb it might kick over.Check for missing or cracked parts--maybe he can lower his price

Did you win it Ed????
