Helping a friend with a '97 honda accord window issue.

The drivers side front window has had a history of not wanting to roll up, but has never had a problem rolling down. It finally will not roll up again.

I think it is the switch, due to the fact that one direction has more trouble than the other.

I've disassembled land cruiser switches before and fixed problems like these, but I can'tfigure out how to disasemble this Honda switch.

Anyone got any experience here?

Well, I got the switch covers off, cleaned the contacts but the switch still has the same problem. Managed to get the window up, though.

If anyonen ends up needing specific help with one of these PM me.

My 95 accord has the same problem. It will go down but will not always go up. It always goes up I wait a little bit. It sometimes takes 2 or 3 times to get it all the way up.

I thought it might be lubrication on the window rail but I will probably just put in a new motor/regulator this winter sometime.

That is a very common problem with Accords. The Regulators (when bad) are slow & build a bunch of resistance causing the the switch to thermal out. I would replace the switch. I have not had any luck either cleaning the contacts. Then make sure the window doesn't roll up slower than the other 3. If it does, look into cleaning, lubing or replacing the Regulator.
