That's depressing alright! Related :D: I slow cook/render the homemade stuff...save every drop of the rendered fat...then filter it through a fine sieve and into the fridge for anything that needs to lay down on the cast iron or steel griddle.

She owes you...big time :D
 
Good idea on the grease, I have been saving some to season some smokers I built. I'd probably use it more for cast iron cooking if I filtered it and fridge. Mixing Kerrygold butter with olive oil for cooking costs more than free bacon grease.
