Ok, so I decided to build a trailer. Last spring me and a buddy decided to build a trailer. We started looking for a M100 or M416. We found a M100 in Delaware. My buddy went and picked it up, and now it was time to start on his. The platform was simple. 3500lb axle, Toyota bolt pattern and 35"s, and a rack for the RTT, some kind of battery box for power. Well it was more work than we thought. Trailer had alot of rust, we ended up removing the front half of the frame and building/extending our own frame. The trailer made its maiden voyage to the Outer Banks of NC last summer and worked awesome. I attached a pic of it. Mine will almost be identical, but not as long.
Now it was time to build mine. We scrapped the idea of finding a M100 or M416, and decided to start from scratch. I got a 3500lb axle and leaf springs, lock and roll for X-Mas, so I had a real good base to start with. Next was the steel. 2x3 14 gauge for the frame, and 2x2 for the rack. I have not decided what exact gauge Im gonna do for the sides and floor. Here are some progress pics so far. Pics are from crappy cell phone. Eventually its gonna be on 35" tires with my RTT, and assorted camping stuff mounted or built into it.
