Hello there are other threads on this but most are very old and some are making my head spin or seem to involve people trying to do complex setups. Though if I'm missing one I'm happy to be redirected.

I bought a new alpine double din touchscreen head unit to put in my HJ61. Yes it is a 24V truck, but the head unit says 12V so I am assuming I have the in-dash converter.

I am trying to see if anyone is aware of what adapter I could buy to allow me to simply plug my stock wiring harness into the modern head unit.

Alternatively if no such adapter exists, if anyone has a wiring diagram so I can hardwire the stock harness wires to the harness that comes with the new head unit that would also help as I can't seem to find a clear answer on this.

I will include pics of my stock radio and harness so it is clear which audio setup the truck has from factory.

Years ago I wired a single din head unit into a corolla and that's the extent of my wiring and audio experience so I'm noob level. Also i am selling this original HJ61 radio if anyone is interested in buying it. But it was not fully functional when I pulled it out.

I'm interested whenever you are ready... Not in any hurry, but trying to put mine back to stock
It will be yours once I get this situation sorted. Please note - as I mentioned above - it was not functioning while in the Truck. This could be because of an issue with the radio or with some issue with the truck wiring but I wont know until I see if the new unit functions when installed. If so then you will know the radio itself will need messed with to work before you install.

what did that connector in your fingers plug into ?

Factory head unit. But the "premium audio" one not the standard 60 series style.

can you show pics of what that single plug plugged into ?

i am very familiar with this topic , at least the TOYOTA sides of things ....

i am NOT interested in buying your old radio ...fyi

but i do have all the audio plugs toyota ever made to circa era 1997 ish

Sure here is the old radio front and back. As far as I am aware, this was also in some 70 series prados.

you need to post photos so to better help me help you ?

as i understand it we are dealing with 3 radios in all ?

it looks like that single plug in your had goes to 2 smaller plugs down the line ?

there are countless audio plugs in the timer period , simply having or saying you have PREMIUM audio does not really tell me much except you may have a SUB-AMP involved after the radio to your speakers .maybe ?

ok ,

so you need a MALE plug , to connect to that Female plug in your fingers above / a Pigtail Adapter ?

it will simply have Leeds on it 6-8 inches , it will be up to you to connect to any aftermarket radio ,

'
the new non-Toyota radio will have printed instructions to do this

Yes i appreciate you trying to help. Your a god send on here btw.

The single plug in my hands in the original pic for this goes directly into the slot you see on the back of the radio. That's the only radio. Just one plug that plugs in. Those other two you see further down the line still connected may or may not be the normal 60 series dual plugs, but I'm not sure if they are and not sure it would matter.

since this is a 24v truck there is a factory converter further in the dash that all these wires run to. That drops it to 12v so the radio can run. But a multimeter showed that the two dual plugs produce 24v. So even if they are the normal style plugs they are prior to the converter and therefore won't work for anything 12V. So that 12V 14 pin plug you see me holding is the only plug/harness i have to draw from. And as stated, the only plug on the radio other than the antenna wire.

I am trying to replace this setup with an Alpine new touchscreen unit. I have searched for an adapter for this plug or wiring diagram for this setup but they don't seem to exist so I have no idea what wires are what.

Yes I am familiar with how the aftermarket radio end will work but the issue is finding out what the setup on that plug is. The 14pin connector from the truck seems like a rare item.
