I'm in the market for new shoes, and I'm looking at 33X12.5X15 inch tires. Thought about upgrading to 16 inch wheels, but I'd expect they would have to be custom since 3.5 inch backspace is a thing of the past for black steelies. My problem is, 33X12.5 on 15's don't have a very high load rating. Around 2,200 lbs I believe. I don't want to go with a narrower tire. Right now I have 32X11.5X15 with a load rating of slightly over 2,500lbs.
Is this load rating too low for an HJ (diesels)? Will the tires be pancakes under load, and be squirly on the highway? If anyone has a specs on the wet weight, and the proportion front to back, that would help out a lot!
Thanks
