Back flush your radiator and engine (if you haven't done already). Check that your fan clutch is working ok.

My engine overheated once and it took six flushes to get it clean. Car ran ok then.
Since then I have replaced te radiator with new, and recently I had to replace the water pump.
My engine is the 12H-T, and never overheats now.

You should be able to turn the fan by hand when the engine is cold. It shouldn't freely spin as there should be a reasonable amount of resistance. When the motor is hot (especially overheating) the fan clutch should cut in. I can hear a whirring sound when mine cuts in (while driving), not loud tho (my wife can't hear it).
When it overheats then stop the engine and grab the fan and see how hard it is to turn.
Obviously, never put your hands anywhere near the fans/belts while the engine is running!!!
