Hey all - I recently finished the 25 bib project for the troopy. As JimC likes to say, just another wannabe. Can't really argue with that :meh:. Jim provided some good historical reasoning for naming it an HJ37:

There were like a dozen models in the pre-40 series. We'll try this for a wheelbase comparison:

FJ21 & 27 = 2WD :eek:
FJ25 = FJ40 90"
FJ24 = FJ28 = FJ43 95"
FJ35 = FJ45LV (45 SWB) 104" (Gene's Rig)

As far as I know there wasn't a 116" wheelbase. So maybe:
FJ37 ~ FJ45LPB = FJ47 ?????

Thanks to LCJunky, Foxfab, and Tedd for providing some hard to find parts. The bib is an early '70's model and the grille bars are hollow steel tubes with nuts welded into the ends. Still need to find a good chrome hood strip and restore a split hood and aprons.

Need to find a grill mesh that is close to the 25 mesh. Its different than a 40.

SOR had clear bib lenses to top off the look. Switch to yellow bulbs :)

I likey. I'm also one of those guys who likes different things from different years. I changed the bib on my '71 to a '69 or earlier with the bib lights and also changed the front turn signals to that year range. Someday, I'd like to add a '76 or later hard top and doors. Just too many good things from different years. :cheers:

ooks good! what trim rings did you use around the headlights?
Sorry for the later reply Brett...Gene's link has all the info.

Also digging the ultra rare 95% invisible PTO winch...;)
ha! It's the rare oem cloaked pto option. The rest of the winch is in peices on the bench.

Hey Randy, That turned out great! Are you going to keep the amber bib lenses or switch to clear? Clear lenses, early aprons and emblems, and the chrome hood strip will really send it back a few years. Nice job.
Thanks to you Gene! I plan on getting a set of the clear lenses soon, hopefully from another bezelless freak on here. I have the early aprons, emblems, and split hood waiting to be resto'd. Just need to find a chrome strip in good shape...which is proving to be tough.

Question for you on the chrome head light rings. How did you attach yours to the bib? I drilled one hole for the right side. The left side has that flexible tab that appears to just make contact with the horizontal headlight adjusting screw threads. While it does hold the rings on, it's not especially tight. Did you do anything special here?

Thanks
