I went into Hurlbert Toyota in Epping on Friday to look at their last 07 FJ Cruiser and the salesman took me out back to show me the owners FJ-40. It was red and not restored yet. So, after buying the FJC, I took the Landcruiser to the dealer on Saturday to pick it up. The Cruiser attracted a small crowd. All their sales and service guys came out to check it out and people driving by saw it and stopped also. The coolest thing were three gents who could barely speak English. They were taking pictures and had huge smiles. I asked one where they were from and he said Bolivia. The truck reminded them of home. Anyway, the salesperson said the owner told her to find out what's my price. Thinking of getting a custom plate "NOT4SAL"

:hhmm:.........Unless he wants to trade even for a 200 series...

That's pretty funny, better than taking the 25 to the dealer and have them referring to it as a Jeep.

Thats funny, I was in the area Saturday so I stopped by Hulberts to see if they had any of the new sandstorm FJ's.
I had my son in my truck and told him to look at that old crewcab FJ parked on the side and said it looked like the one we saw at the fall gathering.
Congratulations on the new FJ purchase, you won't regret it
What color did you get and how did you like dealing with Hulberts Toyota?

Hm,

I always get a crowd at Colchester Toyota when I bring out the 25.

I stopped at Middletown Toyota also and the owner came out (or he said he was) and jokingly asked if I was there to trade it in on a new FJC. I said only if its was an even trade. He actually did think about it for a second.

Black Cherry, 6MT, RR Locker, Convenience, Alloys, ATRAC switch on order. Hurlbert Toyota has been the best in my area. Bill Dube jerked me around on some service and Portsmouth refuses to deal. Their facility in Epping is new and when you drive up for service, the guy meets you before you can get out. I had them change water pump and timing belt on my 4runner, and the price was logical in that everyone else was charging the book price for changing the pump and the book price for timing belt whereas Hurlbert only added 30 minutes labor and the cost for the pump since the front of the engine was already apart. Work was problem free. Sales was normal. I knew more about the vehicle than they do, and standard back and forth negotiating. TMCC provided a great finance rate with price below invoice. I also received the highest trade-in value compared with 3 other dealers. We were happy.

so is the FJC replacing the 4runner? Who's the lucky driver, you or Sheri? :) :)
I've yet to see ANY of the new FJC colors in person (green or tan)... still the same original colors around me.

I seriously covet the all-white Trail Teams Edition.

I know what you mean. I took the 45 out to Colonial Toyota and all the sales guys and service guys came to check it out. Funny thing was the owners son (service manager) was more interested in looking at the black lab in the passenger seat .

.

The FJC is Sheri's truck. She gave up the DVD, navigation, and heated leather so she could do her own thing. For our anniversary, she is getting ARB bull bar and OME suspension. Man, I'm a thoughtful husband. ;)

Maybe we can make some parts (and gas) money by "renting" the trucks for special appearances. They seem to attract a crowd. There are enough Aussie imports around here to put in front of an Outback (not that Outback Restaurants have anything real to do with AU. I've been to AU and there is NO Fosters)

HJ-45CrewCab
I deal with the saleman and dealerships lack of knolledge every time I go in for service.
I usually have to tell them about any problems the FJC's are having or what the new colors are :bang:
If you need to now anything about the FJC or what mods are available go here

This forum is incredible, you will curse me later for showing you ;)

I've thought about doing that. Too bad I havent seen my FJ25 in over a year :(

same thing happened with my old 55 at the Toyota dealer in Kingston. Most people that worked there didn't know 55's existed

there a 2 Toyota dealers that I deal with locally. Everytime I pull into either of them with my 40 it draws a crowd. Funny thing is there is 1 tech at each shop that remembers 40 when they were new:grinpimp:

i love when it is a hot summer day when i need to get parts at wellesley toyota before i go up the steep driveway i shift it in to 4 low and leave it in first gear the fan noise seams to get every ones attention yah i know i am an:grinpimp:

when i had to get a new starter they alowed me to swap it out in the drive way i guess it was a slow day because when i popped my head up from the tire well with starter in hand, there were 6 techs standing around my truck they were also amazed i could swap out the starter in less then 10 min i told them all i have done it 1 to many times
