I'm considering purchasing a highlander and have some questions for those proud owners !!
On the prius the gas motor kicks in at 40 km/ hr or 25 mph. What would the that be for a Highlander ?
Can the kick in be changed somehow to a higher speed to maximize the mileage ?
What are the common repairs to expect and pricy repairs ?
When do the batteries need changing at what km or milage ?

from my experience working on them

1. itll be similar or when ever the motor is needed for acceleration, its not fixed a a set speed unless you put it in ev mode. in ev mode it is up to 25 or untill a certian acceleration point is hit

2. no

3. if you buy an older used one the first gen had a timing belt and the coil packs liked to fail when it got up there in mileage. the coil packs would leave you stuck wherever your at as the vehicle wont run with the misfire from the coils.

4. they dont get replaced at a set mileage, just whenever they fail. theres too many factors to really nail down when itll go so just deal with it when it happens
