High Rev's on the LJ 70

I just got a LJ 70 and since starting it the Rev's are high, the needle is little shy of 2, what should I be

checking / doing ?

Is it the 2LTE electronic engine or the 2LT mechanical injection engine? What year? Give us more info and we can give you more help.

Most likely it's your idle up knob is turned up or broken. Or someone has fiddled with injection pump settings or idle speed adjustment.

Thank you for the response Yes you were right someone had turned the Choke knob to the MAX. GREATLY APPRECIATE your help
