im at ~120k, and need a new waterpump and belt tensioner fairly soon. CVs are clicking but not leaking but have had a OME lift for 70k miles, so the steeper CV angles have done their damage. Other maintenance has been regular OC, tires, brakes, rotors, etc.

My DVD changer is on the fritz though, only works sometimes, very random, other times, even though it has 6 discs in there, it says "No Disc" when "DVD" is pressed. Kids dont enjoy the intermittent inoperability on long trips.

I just bought a 2008 with 156k. excellent service history and drives as good as another I was looking at with 78k. I am the king of high mileage cruisers though. I wouldn't hesitate on one that has proper service history. @TexAZ bought his with 141k and has been thrilled with his as well. Granted, we have haven't had them that long. Look at mileage on some of the tundras with the 5.7 and you know they weren't built as well as the LC. Just my $.02 obviously.
there is a 200 2008 for sale with 199k miles

Got new water pump
Serpentine belt at 180k

@ryanCA, I saw that one. Price is good but looked like it might be a bit rough on the 2 pics. Cheap though

I think that would be a steal at 21 or under.

I bought my 08 in 2012 with 94,000 mi for 39,500. I agree that service/vehicle history would be a factor as well as condition (has it been well-maintained in general?). If all that is squared away, the price right and it's the one you want - I wouldn't hesitate over the mileage.

I am pushing 170,000 mi now and have not had any major issues. KDSS had to be reset/repressurized after I replaced the factory shocks. I also replaced the propeller shaft assembly to eliminate the "thunk" and did the mirror TSB to correct vibration.

Plugs were done at 120K. I am religious about maintenance and planning to run another 50,000 mi before buying the next one.
Can you give me info on fixing the propeller shaft assembly and loose mirror? Just bought a 2008 LC and i can't find the info on the forum anymore! Thanks in advance.

while in the 200 section use the search function - try keywords - propeller shaft / thunk......enjoy the reading - same for the mirrors

I've got a little over 150K on mine now. The service records will tell the story. I got lucky and the original owners took their truck to the dealer religiously. From what I saw, water pump, serpentine belt, tires, brakes, fluids....they did shocks at 120K, and the starter crapped out at 150.
I have the mirror kit, just haven't installed it yet. Other than that, the truck is nicer than any other car I've ever owned. Quieter than new fords, more than enough power, and everything works. Love my truck.

there is a thread in this section..it references Toyota Technical Service Bulliten (T-S8-0017 -11)
t
he TSB has the procedure and part numbers. I just ordered the kit from our local dealer that supports the Copper State Cruisers.
Camelback Toyota. They have a parts website also.
the Kit # is 81859-60480 for the right side and 81859-60490 for the left side.

Save yourself $35 and a trip to the dealer. Just disassemble and put some lock washers on the offending bolts. They are just too short, you'll see what I mean when you get in there. Good luck
