Well could you at least give us a freakin hint for cripes sakes? :flipoff2:

ok you talked me into it.
i dont know if anyone here is into lowriders or hotrods but i am sure you have heard of "frenching"(not kissing). The highlift is frenched into the tailgate of a ford.

I ran a piece of allthread (the biggest that'll fit through the jack) through the center of the spare and the tire carrier. Slide the jack on through one of the holes and tighten down with a wingnut and washer. Cheap and simple. Secure with a small paddlock through the allthread or some other means of security.

Pay no attention to the fact that I appear to be stuck as s#it right here and instead focus on the cheap ass mounting of the highlift.

Hi All:

"Trojan," thanks for sharing, but that is BAFU!

Typical poseur crap!

"Poser," you rock man! Going open-top in the 'freakin snow!

I find hi lift jacks to be a pain in the ass to deal with! Cumbersome to carry and potentially dangerous to operate. All I can say is to carry a can of penetrating oil (i.e. Kroil, WD40, PB Blaster, Liquid Wrench, and so on) along for the ride incase you have to use the hi lift; chances are the jack mechanism will need some lube after sitting out in the weather and dust between use.

I'll admit since several of my buddies always carry a hi lift I've started leaving mine at home!

Regards,

Alan'

I bought these Con-Ferr brackets about 10 years ago, and they mount just about anywhere. (Not sure if Con-Ferr still makes/sells them, but something similar wouldn't be hard to fab.)

Got my Hi Lift on the Co-driver side runningboard, fixed at the windowscreenframe with a lockable screw.

wherever you end up mounting it, protect the mechanism with a cover of some sort. Can't count the number of hi lifts that I've seen failed to function due to the mechanism full of dust and crud. Just when you really need the jack, she fails on you and it's quite aggravating to say the least.

Maybe not the right thread for this but have any of you needed yer high lift yet? I still cary on attatched to my roof rack, but haven't needed it yet....blew a bead once and couldn't get it to reseat so had to change the tire and used my factory jack in the muck cuz it was easier than getting the high lift into use...and safer I would think. Have been thinkin' about tossin it from my trail gear, but still have my reservations.

Put a lift and 37's on your rig, and you won't ask that question again...

I've used mine multiple times.... Often on other peoples rigs, since I'm usually the only one with one...

Almost every time I work on my rig (at home) I use it too..
