High beams working incorrectly

Need help figuring out my high beams issue on my fzj80.
Low beams work fine and when you pull the stalk towards you the high beams and light bar turn on. When you push the stalk away from you the headlights turn off completely...

the dimmer switch is dirty or bad.
can you rapidly toggle and get them to work?
my switch will do this after sitting long periods. using it normally brings it back.
ylu should be able to take it apart and clean it up
