is there a company out there that makes high angle boots for the front cv joints. With the 3" lift in my 2001 tacoma they split after rubbng togther in about a month.. any sugg?

the reason they keep splitting is from the boot rubbing on itself underneath. I would think that a boot with less ribbs in it would be better. They act wear into each other. I know Downey used to carry them.
thought maybe someone here had a good solution. those might be worth a try tho.

could try Off Road Solutions - 1995.5-2004 Tacoma Parts

From there website

These CV boots have been completely re-designed to work with high angle applications, such as lifted vehicles. The boot stretches further over the joint and the bellows are placed further apart to keep them from contacting, extending the life of the boot. Kit includes 1 boot, 2 clamps, and CV joint grease, 2 kits needed per vehicle. These boots will work with the original axles or the ORS Manual Hub Conversion. With tulip shaped CV joints the use of the original boot sealing flange is required

I installed a 1" dif drop and hose clamped my stock boots. Solved my problem.

Yeah I did that but they are still splitting. only last about 2 months. The ones from ORS are the ones that I am looking for, hasta be someone else who sells them.

My local CV rebuild shop can do silicone boots. I'm not sold on silicone boots. The silicone boots will deform at speed. I know that on 3rd gen 4runners (96-02) the outsides don't have the room and will rub. I know of some that have used them on the insides. I just had both of my axles rebooted, neo outside/silicone inner. I'm out on a road trip and after 1200 miles they are puking grease from both inner boots. Holes too.

My outer boots are neoprene and are stretched some so the ribs don't touch. They also used boots with less flutes to keep them from touching.

Are they split? or they just leaking out where the clamps are? if they ar not "burped" when put on the heat expansion will make them leak.
