Hey guys, was just wondering if any one else out there put a HID conversion kit on there standard h4 headlights in there 70 series and how the hell they got the dash high beam indicator to work is there any trade secerts out there? i have put a kit on both my 75 series and my new 79 V8D4D, and cant work it out on either of them. if you leave a normal h4 globe plugged in to one side with your HID kit it works i measured resistance across high beam to ground and tryed a resistor but doesnt work, the second kit i got says something about negative switch vehicles to change the diodes around the only problem is there is no diodes in the kit too swap around haha and it doesnt tell you which way too run them and what size? its a phillips kit. Any help clues would be unreal, i dont have a very comprehensive wiring diagram of either truck which also doesnt help cheers.

Gday mate
sounds like my issue atm a mate ordered a box load of hid kits in so i got a h3 hid kit for my spotties and h4 hid kit for my headlights spotties work well but the h4 hid globes are only high beem i think there ment for twin headlights like the aus 80 series or so. the globes you need have the hi a lo built in. so the new h4 globes have been ordered for all the h4 kits he got in. With the hi/lo globes you need a extra relay/box thing to alow the hi/lo to change i think a magnet line pulls something in the globe back and forth. So when the new globes and litlle box come in i can let you know how i go with it

yeh clint i have the bi xenon ones already which you are talking about but it wont run your high beam light on the dash or you driving lights if you have them hooked up to your high beam wire which 99% of people do. You will prob strike the same trouble i have with it. Iam goin to get some comprehensive toyota drawings see how i go wit that, but i had a faulty ballast so had to remove my kit.

i got my new hi/lo globes in and have the same problem with no blue high beam light on the dash when the high beamers are on but 4x4 they are by far the best thing i have bought using the 6000k every bit of every thing is lit up i think the lo beam may be a bit bright because a few people have flashed me,ill get them adjusted soon.
I asked my mate about the issue and he said its something to do with which side of the original headlight plug you use , my mate said it happened on his first hid kit but not the second but his 80 has duel batt. my hid wiring loom join headlight plug wire isnt long enough to reach the driverside headlight plug so when it stops storming and raing one day ill change it over to see if it makes a difference
